Motala Hydropower Foundation Grant

Some exciting news today! My collaborators (Daniel Palm, Gustav Hellström, Erin McCallum, Daniel Cerveny, and Tomas Brodin) and I have received funding for a new study from the Motala Hydropower Foundation in Östergötland County, Sweden. This funding was awarded for a project that will be carried out in Sweden’s second-largest lake, Lake Vättern, where slow-release pharmaceutical implants and acoustic telemetry will be combined to investigate the potential impacts of pharmaceutical pollution on Atlantic salmon smolts. The funding will be used to purchase high-resolution acoustic telemetry transmitters, which will be implanted into salmon smolts that will be tracked for approximately six months in Lake Vättern.
